A new horizon

On November 1st 2021, Open Top Drive LLC a Texas LLC acquired 100% of the Intellectual Property(IP), Assets and Canadian inventory of Henderson Rigs and Equipment’s Fluid Design Solutions (FDS) product line acquired from AXON in 2017. Open Top Drive LLC was founded in 2021 by Michael Szafron along with several partners to change the way oilfield equipment OEM’s do business.

The model allows for any machine shop, parts supplier or equipment services company to deal directly with Drilling Contractor end users for a small royalty fee. This removes multiple “middle companies” reducing cost and lead times. Licensed companies include West Apex lead by Chris Schmitz, Bruce Clark with Drill Quip Pty Ltd. and Donald Seckel with Texas Hydrostatics that does factory direct rebuild of hydraulic pumps and motors.
